CanaryQuote is a free website with material calculators and document templates. You can use all of it without an account. This page explains what information is collected, why, and what you can do about it.
Information that stays on your device
What you type into calculators and templates (measurements, prices, business details, customer names) is saved in your browser's local storage so it's there when you come back. It isn't sent to us. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it.
Information you send us
If you ask us to find a local contractor, we collect your zip code, timing and mobile number, and the project details from the calculator. The request is collected through a form service (Tally), which stores it and emails it to us. We use it to contact you about that project and to look for a contractor near you. If we find one, we share your request with them so they can contact you, by call or text, which may be automated. You can reply STOP to any text to opt out. We don't use this information for anything else, and we delete requests we can't help with after 90 days.
If you email us, we keep the email to reply to you.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used, such as which calculators are popular. It sets cookies and collects information like pages visited, device type and approximate location. Google's use of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Advertising and affiliate links
Some pages show ads from third-party ad networks, which may use cookies to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites. Some links to stores are affiliate links: if you buy something after clicking one, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Those stores have their own privacy policies.
Your choices
- Block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
- Clear this site's data in your browser to delete anything saved locally.
- Ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to delete it, at hello@canaryquote.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local privacy law.
Children
The site is meant for adults and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
